There is steam / food / grease inbetween my oven / cooker door, is this normal?
Q) There is steam / food / grease inbetween my oven / cooker door, is this normal?
A) Yes this is quite normal, the door will be vented and air circulated to keep the exterior of the cooker / oven and the electronics cool. Any water will evaporate when the applaince returns back to room temperature. Any grease deposits will be a result of leaving food uncovered while cooking which will require the door being taken apart for cleaning. The door will also need to be dismantled if any spillages occur between the glass.
Only on certain new models it is possible for a customer / non-engineer to clean and replace the door glass, details of which will be within the user manual.
If the glass is not replaced correctly with all internal seals checked then cooking times may become extended, heat could escape and external parts could become dangerously hot, so due to these health and safety concerns it is a job best left to a qualified engineer.
