Refrigeration
Q: Water keeps building in the bottom of my fridge, what is causing this nad how can I stop the water from building up?
A: The rear wall of the fridge will from time to time build up with a thin layer of ice, this is normal, after the appliance has been down to thre required temperture for a while the appliance will defrost itself. There is no need to defrost the refrigerator because ice depositing on the
inner back wall is defrosted automatically
Ice is depositing on the inner back wall during the compressor operation later on when the compressor is not operating ice is defrosting and water drops collect and drain through the outlet in the inner back wall into the drain pan situated above the compressor from where it evaporates.
If the water is not able to go down this drain hole, the water will build up in the bottom of the fridge compartment, try and clear this hole or blockage and the water will run down and this should cure the issue. As part of the care and maintainence of your appliance its states in the user manual that you also have to clean the rear of the appliance and the compressor drip tray as well as the condenser, in case of the appliance being built in to your kitchen units, you will have to uninstall the appliance first, please refer to the user guide on cleaning and maintainence for your model
