Q) Can I extend the hoses on my dishwasher / washing machine?

Drain Waste Hose.



Ideally you should extend the plumbing to the appliance, for both water supply and drain waste.



But if absolutely necessary you can extend your waste drain hose to a maximum of three (3) metres, providing the use of the correct bore size, type, and quality of hose, and suitable joining pieces are employed. which can be purchased from any good plumbing store.



It remains the responsibility of the person adapting the installation to ensure the hose extensions are well routed, supported, watertight and allowing the appliance to be removed for cleaning and maintenance, whilst still connected to services, as this is the original purpose of the standard hose length.




Water Supply Hose



Ideally you should extend the plumbing to the appliance, for both water supply and drain waste.



Extending a water supply hose with ‘Aqua stop’ fitted is not recommended. As this would render the Aqua stop ineffective, should a leak occur in the prior extension hoses.



Water supply hoses can be extended up to a maximum of four (4) meters, providing the use of the correct bore size, type, and quality of hose, and suitable joining pieces are employed. which can be purchased from any good plumbing store.
