Q: Using too little detergent or continued washing at low temperatures can cause a build up of grease, dirt and hard water salts. This can, over time, damage your machine and your clothes.
A: AMDEA recommend you carry out a maintenance wash two or three times a year to avoid a build-up of greasy deposits and water hardness residue.
A maintenance wash consists of running a 95 degrees C programme without laundry in the drum, using the usual amount of the manufactuer's recommended detergent for normal soiling. The detergent should contain bleach, ie not be a colur or liquid detergent.
