Do I need a "Stabilising Unit" for my gas hob?

Q) Do I need a "Stabilising Unit" for my gas hob?

A) For UK use, no "Stabalising Unit" is required for installation. this is an Australian only requirement.

The outer carton of the hob will have the text:

To be installed only by an authorised person.

The instruction packaged with this appliance contain important information about installation and use.

Not for use marine craft, caravans or mobile homes.

Adjusted for natural gas 1.0kPa.

Stabilising means must be fitted to this product.  Refer to instructions

Smeg is a global brand and the Australian market requires some specific notes on gas appliances to be shown on the packaging, the factory prints the packaging in the same way for all gas hobs (and also cookers with gas hobs) wherever the particular model may be marketed.

The fitting instructions will be found in the user manual enclosed in the packing.
